Flyers linked to trade interest in Maple Leafs goalie originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
It feels like this NHL offseason will feature more teams looking for goalie help than there are goalies out there to do the helping.
A few franchises do have surpluses, though, and the Toronto Maple Leafs are one of those. Maybe they don't have a surefire star in net, but there is potentially a glut that needs to be cleared out, in part due to the development of Dennis Hildeby.
No one is suggesting to trade Hildeby, though.
Rather, the idea is that likely one of Joseph Woll or Anthony Stolarz could be moved.
As far as the Philadelphia Flyers are concerned, Woll might be the guy they want to help add some depth to a goalie group that could use it.
Daily Faceoff's Anthony Di Marco reported earlier in the week that the Flyers are fans of Woll.
MORE: Sabres' story of this season is about all the chapters along the way
Woll is 27 years old and originally from Missouri. He was a third-round pick by the Leafs in the 2016 NHL Draft and played his college hockey at Boston College.
This season, Woll was 15-16-7 with a 3.34 goals against average and 89.8 save percentage.
His career averages are both better: 2.94 GAA, 90.6 save percentage.
The 6-foot-3 Woll has appeared in parts of five NHL seasons for Toronto. His best campaign was 2024-25 when he went 27-14-1.
Now, he and Stolarz will likely both spend this offseason in some doubt about where they'll be playing in 2026-27. Toronto almost certainly wouldn't move both, but there'd be logic in trading one, so keep an eye on these possibilities.
The Flyers have Dan Vladar under contract for one more season, but it makes sense for them to bolster their overall options in the crease.
