Hats off to Jake, playing a great game against the Raiders and man oh man did Gannon just go off on Marc Trestman. I mean he was furious. Oh, well... I STILL like Jeff Blake better and still hyped over his gutsy performance against the Pack.

GO CARDINALS!!!

Jake was a bad fit for this team - maybe he shines in Denver -maybe not - I just now that I tyhank God he's not playing for us anymore - both the team and the player needed to separate.

Jake played well tonight, but let's face it, Denver has beaten three crappy teams. If Griese or Blake were their QB they would still be 3-0.

credit where credit is due. Jake looked great tonight. He played within himself. That touchdown run thats Jake, That run for a lot of yards thats great Jake. Not a preety pass, not a great arm, just like 1998 with a goiod cast he can do it. POrtes makes anyone look good.

GBR
P.S. I love Blake but I see Jake far into the playoffs this year.

you know what the wierd thing was - after the first quarter my hatred of Jake playing well seemed to cool off a little bit - look the guy tried his hardest here and for ahost of reasons was unsuccessful - I mean if it wasn't for the media constantly bashing on us through the praise of him - I might actually be able to root for the guy - after all he did something that no one else has ever done in AZ - take the Devils to within 1:34 seconds of a national title - of course David Boston just had to be the one to screw that up - and he was a big part of the team that gave us the most exciting Cardinal season since they've been out here.

I really don't care what the media says and will probably not root for Jake to fail as I had been doing - but then again - if he does - I won't mind that either.

Boy - what the hell did that win yesterday do to me - ifrst I sound like a kool-aider most of today and now I'm saying I don't hate Jake? Keep bringing on the wins - it always makes life better (sad - but true)

I don't root against Jake but good lord why the Broncos I hate Sharpe and Mike perma goofy smile S.

I hope the Chiefs kick the living snot out of them and Plummer is picked 8 times those two games then has a great rest of the year.

I think the biggest difference in Jake is that they have so much talent around him that he can just relax and play.

He's got some good talent just was a bad QB here and tried too hard should have thrown it away more and let the blame land where it belonged but also he should have been yelled at and sat more and it was a crime they just let him give away games without any pressure on him for his job.

This is exactly why I don't think we should ever draft a QB we stink at developing them. Wait until we have someone like Sullivan at the QB coach or OC position that is that good with QB's like Sullivan is with WR and then maybe, not before.

Denver took care of Jake perfectly in this game tonight and really made it easy for him to shine. First, they run Portis about six straight times to start the game, the Raiders know he's coming, but can't stop him. Then, the first pass play is a play-action rollout where Jake doesn't have to make any complicated reads, just run it or dump it to Sharpe about six yards down field. Touchdown. Then, the Raiders still can't stop the run, they are at the mercy of play action, Jake has his confidence, and they just rolled. They simplified their routes from the Cincy game as well, IMO.

Jake had very good games here too, it's not like he sucked every week. But, clearly, he doesn't have the load on his shoulders in Denver, Portis is the main man. When a team stops Portis early, and brings pressure, that's when Jake will struggle.

Oakland a crappy team? Jake played a great game against a good defense. The raiders have a great secondary. Imagine if portis played. He was only in the first series. Ashley Leile looks like he could be one hell of a player.

I agree - but when is that gonna happen - that kid - if and when healthy is an absolute stud - over his first 18 games started he's avergaing something ridiculous like 5.8 yards per carry - not to mention Mike Anderson behind him and that offensive line doesn't miss a beat either.

Man - I will give Shanny this much credit - his offensive line is best run blocking O-line I have ever seen - any running back that is back - TD, Gary, Anderson, Portis - every single one of them has been made to look like absolute studs - and this is for the last six years.

Oakland looks worn down man - they are old and slow everywhere besides Corner - that being said - Trace Armstrong is still 10 times better than any D-lineman we have. But the Raiders do not look good right now.

Yes, the Raiders are obviously not the same team as last year. But, I think they just don't seem to have the fire they had last year. Why, I have no clue. But, that D is not flying to the ball, and that O-line is not nearly as physical in the run game as they were last year.

I agree. This team looked frustrated and worn down. Like i said there bright spot is there secondary. Romo also made some good plays today. They need to upgrade the line in order for the secondary to be as good as it can be. They have to play zones and lay off because of the amount of time jake had to throw.

Have you watched Oakland play this year? They have looked horrible!

A great secondary? Denver's receivers were wide open all night.

Oakland had to kick a field goal in the final minute to beat the Bengals at home or they would be 0-3.

Even the rook griffin had some success tonight at the end of the game.

Give the bengals credit they are not as bad of a team as you think. oakland's offense is the problem right now that is clear. They are not on the same page and the WR's cant get open. Porter is a big part of that. This team will be better once he is healthy. The defense is not horrible. They were wide open because the couldnt play man due to the line. The raiders line brought no pressure and that hurts any secondary(see cardinals last 2 years).

Fair enough, but good teams have to overcome injuries. The Cards had six starters out yesterday and then lost Wendell Bryant and they still found a way to win.

Oakland looks like they don't give a damn.

This might be the most simplistic and best assesment of Jake Plummer I've ever heard. Good read man!

Not really ironic. He wouldnt' have taken us to the Super Bowl. He need a change of scenery, we needed a change at QB.

It would be ironic if he took them to the SB this year, and faced the Cardinals. :D

Ultimate irony would be to face the Cards in the Superbowl throw 5 first half picks and then lead a 12:08 furious 31 point 4th quarter comeback, with the final play being a behind the back pass to Portis.

Mac and the rest of the staff plus all his former Coordinators then complete a suicide pact during the post game show.

Oakland isn't crappy they're just in a huge Super bowl funk. That defense should be embarassed so many blown assignments. All week they talked about how they can't overrun plays because SHanahan loves misdirection, then they do it repeatedly.

The one time that they stayed home on it, Jake turned to find Armstrong right there, ran 20 yards back and then threw the ball blindly out of bounds lucky they didn't call grounding. It's clear if they do keep their assignments they have a chance but they didn't and Jake burned them repeatedly.

I agree that Oaklands defense looked horrible. Almost all of Jakes TD's went to wide open Denver players. I'm not sure if it was Oaklands defense or Shanahan's Offense that created all those oppertunities for Jake.

Jake going to Denver was the best thing for him and the Cardinals. I have no ill will towards him and can care less how the Broncos do.

Sorry Russ but yes I think they are that bad and old as well.

I watched Rice catch one and waited for him to turn it on leaving the safety in the dust. There was no second gear any more, all he needed was 1 fast step and it was 30yds to pay dirt.

The step wasn't there.
