Malik Willis wins over Dolphins fans with first interview of OTAs

After cutting Tua Tagovailoa, the Miami Dolphins signed Malik Willis to a three-year, $67.5 million contract via free agency. On Tuesday, May 19, the Dolphins held their first OTA practice open to the media, and fans gave positive feedback on the new quarterback.

The Tennessee Titans drafted Willis as a third-round pick in 2022, but in two years and a couple of starts, they traded the quarterback to the Green Bay Packers.

Over the past two years, whenever Jordan Love missed time, Willis stepped up and took his game to another level.

In four appearances this past season as a Packer, Willis completed 30 of 35 passes (85.7%) for 422 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also added two touchdowns on the ground, making him the hottest quarterback in free agency.

On Tuesday, Willis’ confidence and humility have fans ready to rally behind him.
