YORK, Maine — The third-seeded York High School boys lacrosse team earned a 17-4 Class B quarterfinal win over No. 6 Gray-New Gloucester/Poland on Saturday, June 13 at York High School.
York will play No. 10 Kennebunk in a Class B semifinal on Tuesday, June 16. The Rams upset No. 2 Messalonskee, 11-10, on Friday, June 12.

Noah Stone led York with seven goals, while Brett Aceto and Cooper Dodge both had three. Charles Drake added two goals for the Wildcats, and Parker Humphrey and Tyler Moores each had one.
“The guys came out ready to play,” York head coach Bill McNamara said. “We played (GNG/Poland) a few weeks back, and it was a six-goal game, so we knew they were a worthy opponent. The boys came fired up, played together and got a good win.”
York improved to 11-5 on the season and remains unbeaten against Class B competition.
“It was a team win and we all played together,” York senior Nick Beaulieu said. “It started right from the beginning in the locker room. All the boys were together and fired each other up. It was just great.”
York beat Kennebunk, 5-2, in their lone regular-season meeting on May 15.
“We know they’ve got a good team,” McNamara said. “We’re just going to keep working on doing what we do, focus on playing the best York lacrosse we can and head into Tuesday with the same mentality we had today.”
“I think we’ve just got to keep doing what we’re doing,” Beaulieu said. “Keep working, don’t get too caught up in these early playoff wins, and keep rolling to the next one. Just keep working and play together."
