MADISON, S.D. (KELO) — The championship trophy for ‘The Rock’ tournament stays in Madison as Post 25 clinched the title over Luverne, 3-2, on Sunday evening.
Madison took a 3-0 lead heading into the bottom of the sixth but Post 478 found two runs to tighten the deficit. It was Post 25’s Henry Veenhof who held down the fort on the bump, posting six strikeouts and three walks across six and two thirds innings. Veenhof also led at the plate with a run and an RBI in the win.
This is the first year of the event, created to honor the life of fallen Moody County Chief Deputy Ken Prorok. Prorok’s son, JD, is a senior on Madison’s squad this year.
