BROOKINGS, S.D. (KELO) — The Class ‘B’ state baseball tournament concluded Tuesday afternoon, with second-seeded Madison defeating eighth-seeded Clark Area 8-2 in the championship game.

The Bulldogs controlled the basepaths, with four different players collecting two RBIs and four stolen bases to secure the dominant victory.

The championship marks Madison baseball’s first title in more than 20 years and the second in program history.

“We’ve been here, I’ve been here several times with our coaching staff,” head coach Eric Hortness said. “I think it’s six out of seven years we’ve made the state tournament so to finally get through and win three games is just awesome.”

Madison finishes its season with a 23-2 record and undefeated in Class ‘B’ play.
