Despite fans of the Boston Celtics clamoring for more playing time for the Washington, DC native to see more playing time vs. the Philadelphia 76ers in their 2026 NBA Eastern Conference Playoffs first round series, backup Boston big man Luka Garza has not seen the floor much with the Celtics so far in the postseason.

But he has gotten a few shots at helping out in the frontcourt, including a longer stint in Game 1 that saw him put up 7 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist. "I just stick to what's worked for me in the past," said Garza after a recent Boston practice of how he approaches those limited stints.

"Obviously just trying to screen, make energy plays, offensive rebound, do what I can to help the offense flow," he added.

"And (I) try to not make any game plan mistakes and stuff like that," continued Garza. "So those minutes ... when I see someone getting foul trouble a little bit, I know it's probably coming."

"So, I prepare my mind every single game -- I expect to play. If I do or I don't, it doesn't matter. It's just I'vegot to have that mindset to be ready and go in there and try to make some plays."
