LSU women's basketball picked up a major commitment from former Iowa State point guard Jada Williams, according to a report from On3's Talia Goodman on Sunday. She fills an immediate need for the Tigers at point guard.
Williams visited LSU this weekend and was seen with head coach Kim Mulkey at the Baton Rouge airport. Last year, she averaged 15.3 points, 7.7 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game with the Cyclones.
Mulkey depends on a floor general at the helm of her offense. Jada Richard held the role last season but the sophomore unexpectedly entered the portal. Now, the Tigers will have one of the most experienced players in the country leading the charge.
Williams spent her first two seasons at Arizona, where she made 58 starts and averaged 11 points per game. She transferred to Iowa State ahead of her junior year and will join LSU for her final season of college basketball.
