LSU women's basketball will go in search of another point guard ahead of next season. Jada Richard entered the transfer portal, according to multiple confirmed reports on Thursday.

A native of Opelousas, LA, Richard started all but one game for the Tigers in 2025-26. She averaged 9.5 points and 2.7 rebounds per game. She totaled 117 assists on the year and shot 44% from the field.

Richard is the fourth Tiger to depart for another school. She follows Divine Bourrage, Kailyn Gilbert and Bella Hines. But Richard's decision is perhaps the most surprising, considering her critical role on the team. She went from rarely seeing meaningful minutes as a freshman to quarterbacking the offense.

BREAKING: LSU’s Jada Richard plans to enter the transfer portal, she told @On3.

The 5-7 sophomore averaged 9.5 ppg, 3.3 apg and 1.3 spg this season.

The decision from Richard likely came as a surprise to head coach Kim Mulkey, who said days ago that she expected all but one of her players from last year to return. The rising junior may be looking to play a bigger scoring role.
