BATON ROUGE — The recruiting roll Lane Kiffin and his LSU football are on continues.
Three-star athlete Markez Davis announced his commitment to the Tigers via his social media pages Monday. Davis is the third prospect to pledge their verbal to LSU in the last 24 hours, joining five-star edge rusher KJ Green and three-star running back Brennan Lacy.
Davis, the Opelousas native and Northwest wide receiver, chose LSU over Houston, West Virginia, Texas Tech and a few other programs. He's now the seventh players in LSU's 2027 recruiting class.

Kiffin, cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond and the Tigers' defensive staff hosted Davis on a visit to campus last week. Many national recruiting experts have said that the 6-foot-3, 178-pound athlete has been rising up recruiting boards for schools. LSU has been the favorite to land Davis for sometime.
Following Davis' commitment, the Tigers saw their recruiting class ranking spike seven spots from No. 52 to No 45 in the 247Sports Composite.
National ranking: No. 744 / State ranking: No. 21 / Position ranking: No. 59
For sometime, LSU was considered the frontrunner for Davis and not just because he's from Louisiana. The athlete projects to play cornerback for the Tigers, something he was drawn to.

So far, LSU's 2027 recruiting class is heavy on offensive players and Lacy is the first running back to the join the mix. The 5-11, 190-pound playmaker is a multisport athlete.

Green is considered to be the second-best defensive end in the 2027 high school class behind Ohio State commit DJ Jacobs. Green fills void in class left by Bryant decommitment.

Hudson is the top rated tight end prospect in the country, per the 247Sports Composite. He is in line to be the next Trey'Dez Green for the Tigers.

Houston, the Shreveport native, is a top-10 quarterback recruit in the country. He's been committed to the Tigers prior to Kiffin being hired.

Calais, from Carencro, is a top-10 athlete recruit in the nation. At 6-2, 200, he projects to play wide receiver at the college level.

Stevens committed to the Tigers back on April 17 during one of the new staff's biggest recruiting weekends since they've taken over the program. At 5-11, 160-pound the speedster should play slot receiver in college.
