I am getting the DVD through Blockbuster. If you preorder it for $30 you get 7 free movie rentals and the DVD. Essentially, I'm getting the DVD for free.

I will also end up buying the extended version as well. I love how the additional and extended scenes are integrated into the movie.

I can't wait to have all 3 extended versions and watch them back to back to back!

Funny thing is, you ordered The Two Towers and won't get it till it's actually been available for a bit, but you ran right out first thing this morning and bought From Justin to Kelly.

Are both the normal version and the extended version released at the same time?

Last year I made the mistake that I bought the normal version -2 DVDs when it was released in august and later in October or November they released the extended version -4 DVDs.

That's the same marketing strategy this year as well.

Today's release was the theatrical version. November will be the Extended Version.

Ever been to a Best Buy when they first open the doors? The one across the street from Fiesta Mall has all of the employees stand in two lines (one to the left, one to the right) at the front door and they all clap their hands and cheer and welcome the first customers to the store.
