With the college baseball regular season in the books, a few Longhorns are making national headlines. The trio of Dylan Volantis, Anthony Pack Jr., and Sam Cozart was named finalists for Baseball America's national awards on Wednesday. After stellar 2026 campaigns, it would not be a surprise to see any of the three add to their trophy cases.

Following a career year, Volantis is a finalist for the College Pitcher of the Year Award. In his first year pitching out of the rotation, the California native posted a 2.00 ERA in 14 games. He also struck out 109 batters while holding opponents to a .184 batting average. With the Westlake High product frustrating opponents on a weekly basis, Texas was hard to stop whenever Volantis made a start.

As Volantis raised his stock, Cozart also thrived on the mound. In 20 appearances, the talented freshman posted a 1.59 ERA and struck out 66 batters. The North Carolina native also showed that he could play multiple roles, adding eight saves to his resume. Due to his play, Cozart is a finalist for the National Freshman of the Year Award.

Rounding out the list is Pack, who was a force at the plate as a freshman. In 53 games, the Longhorns outfielder posted a .353 batting average and drove in 45 runs. He also showed off some power with 23 extra-base hits, including 16 doubles. Like Cozart, Pack is a finalist for the National Freshman of the Year Award.

Anthony Pack Jr. in SEC play = RIDICULOUS

The @TexasBaseball FRESHMAN is batting .419/.522/.622 in those games, with that .419 BA leading all hitters in SEC play! @theeantpack@sec_d1baseball

While the trio's focus is on winning a national title, hardware from Baseball America would not be a bad ending to the 2026 campaign. The Longhorns stars have each made compelling cases and come through in clutch situations. Now they will have to wait and see how voting for the awards plays out.
