Flush and repeat. That's exactly what the UNC baseball team needs to do today to avoid elimination in its own Super Regional.

The Diamond Heels face elimination at 2 p.m. today, hosting USC for Game 2 on another hot, late-spring day. North Carolina has staff ace Jason DeCaro on the bump today, while the Trojans look to replicate their Game 1 success from a 9-5 victory.

UNC appeared well on its way to a Game 1 win, thanks to five runs in five innings. Ryan Lynch mowed his way through USC, while Diamond Heel batters chased Trojans ace Mason Edwards after three innings.

USC roared back, scoring eight unanswered runs and taking the lead for good on Dean Carpentier's grand slam off Walker McDuffie. North Carolina's offense proved largely non-existent after the Trojans' charge, something that can't afford to happen today.

Make sure you stay tuned here throughout Game 2, as we'll bring you the latest big plays, scoring updates and other big moments.

UNC-USC baseball prediction, picks, odds

With how Game 1 started, the ending came as a major shocker. UNC's usually-strong bullpen faltered, while offense couldn't do anything late.

USC is searching for its first trip to Omaha in 25 years. DeCaro, the Tar Heels' staff ace, doesn't have his best stuff as of late.

North Carolina needs to hit throughout, but the Trojans simply play hungrier baseball and advance to the College World Series.

Score prediction: USC 8, UNC 4
