Good post Russ.

I agree, however, I am still also impressed with Lavar Woods. I think he is a "player". I think Dansby, Hayes, Woods ...makes a great LB core. If it were me I'd have Woods starting and Thompson "situation playing".

From what little I saw of Dansby in the first game, he does indeed seem to be a great, versatile athlete. They seemed to play him everywhere, Up on the line literally as as DE, (ala Suggs), back in coverage...everywhere.

I agree. I am, and have always been, a big Ronnie Mac fan, but I'm guessing this may be his last year starting, and look for Hayes to take more and more playing time away from him as the season progresses.

Linebacker is the one area that we almost seem overloaded at. Which his nice.

In my LB model, I have:

a)SAM= Dansby (Hayes) (Young)
b)MIKE= McKinnon (Hayes) (Darling)
c)WILL= Thompson (Woods) (Fisher)

All other can be cut.

I don't always agree with Jurecki. But in this case, if he's saying that, it only fits the pattern of history that Dennis Green has established in his past.

Dennis Green's history has always been:
He is a power hungry ego maniac....Getting props, fame and admiration are what is his TOP priority.

So far I keep saying my mantra with him has been "We'll see"....well ...now we are starting "to see" a few things. And about the only major thing he's really established so far....is that this leopard isn't changing spots.

No matter what happens as far as the success of this team, Dennis Green remains basically a gutless lowlife, in my estimation. Its not just the things he does that I object to so much....as the classless and myopic way he does some of them.

Mac and Tobin may have have left some things to be desired in some areas...but they were both men of class, not only in how they handled interpersonal relations with their peers and players, but the fans too, and I have no doubt , at least they were trying to do what they thought best for the long term good of the TEAM....not Vince Tobin or Dave McGinnis.

To me Dennis Green is the V.J. Singh of football...and that ain't good. Mark my words....what goes around, comes around....and karma will end up biting Dennis Green in the butt, in due time.

I know little about Dennis Green other than what he has said since coming to the Cards and the moves he has made. So far he scares me.

And here is the great part about it.

Hayes, Dansby, Darling, Fisher, Thompson, and Woods are all under contract next year. That is our complete starting rotation and backup rotation except for Ronnie Mac.
