The Lions most popular selection in the mock draft simulator at Pro Football Focus is a quite popular one, indeed.

Fans love to project out the first round in PFF's mock draft simulator. The publication released the data from all the simulations, revealing the most popular projection for each team's first-round pick. For Detroit, that choice is Tennessee EDGE James Pearce.

Pearce has been on an upswing in popularity around the draft world, not just with the PFF simulators. He was Mel Kiper's projection to the Lions in his most recent mock draft at ESPN, and he's been joined by others. As PFF succinctly notes on the player-team match,

Pearce is the kind of athlete with the production and disruption scores you don't let out of the first round. His twitchy movements show difference-making NFL traits that can be situational at worst and All-Pro at best.

However, Pearce isn't only popular with the Lions fan base. He's also the most-mocked player for the Baltimore Ravens, Green Bay Packers, Cincinnati Bengals, Seattle Seahawks and Washington Commanders. Detroit picks at No. 28, after Baltimore (27), Green Bay (23), Seattle (18) and Cincinnati (17) make their picks. It's a good reminder that the Lions aren't the only team that needs pass-rush help., and the demand might outrank the worthy supply in the first round.
