Whether it's fútbol or football, game recognizes game. So when Patrick Mahomes attended Tuesday's World Cup match between Argentina and Algeria, thus witnessing a vintage Lionel Messi performance, he had only emojis to describe how mesmerizing it was.

Messi scored a hat trick in Arrowhead Stadium, home of Mahomes' Kansas City Chiefs, to lift Argentina to its first World Cup win since their title back in 2022.

It was Messi's first World Cup hat trick, and he's now tied with Germany's Miroslav Klose for the most goals in tournament history with 16. Here's all Mahomes had to say in the aftermath.

Will Patrick Mahomes return to World Cup?

It's unclear, but since there'll be five more World Cup matches in Kansas City before it's all said and done, it would not be surprising to see him again.
