Lewis Hamilton has finally reached the mountain top at Ferrari. In his second season with Ferrari, Hamilton finally won his first race in red at Spain last weekend. It was an amazing performance by the seven-time Formula 1 champion, putting himself in contention for the championship.

Hamilton gained 25 points on Kimi Antonelli, who had a mechanical issue in Spain. Now, Hamilton sits only 41 points behind Antonelli in the Formula 1 championship standings. This is a big development, as the Mercedes driver has won five of the seven races during the 2026 season.

There will be plenty of debate on whether Hamilton can keep up this pace with Mercedes. If so, he should be the championship favorite due to his tremendous amount of experience. For now, Hamilton will focus on continuing his successes as Formula 1 goes to Austria this weekend.
