The Chicago Bulls finally received some lottery luck again this offseason.

After another disappointing season in 2025-26, the Bulls ended up with the No. 4 pick in the 2026 NBA Draft. This was a great draft to get lucky in, too, as it's widely believed that there are at least four elite talents at the top.

It's pretty clear the Bulls just need talent all over the roster this offseason. However, they specifically need to add some talented big men. Patrick Williams and Jalen Smith are the only true bigs on the roster, and that's not an ideal situation.

Luckily, a few of the best players in this class are big men. Bleacher Report's Jonathan Wasserman recently published an updated mock draft and he has the Bulls landing the perfect player to fix their woes down low.

Caleb Wilson could be perfect solution for Bulls

For most people, AJ Dybantsa, Darryn Peterson, and Cameron Boozer are the top three players in the draft, with Caleb Wilson coming in at a close fourth. If that's exactly how the draft goes, then it's hard to imagine the Bulls going with someone else over Wilson.

Regarding Wilson and the Bulls, Wasserman offered the following:

Caleb Wilson should look like a strong best-player-available candidate and easy plug-and-play forward for the Chicago Bulls at the 4.

There are even NBA front office members who actually prefer Wilson to Cameron Boozer, whose athletic limitations have raised some skepticism. Certain scouts sound willing to bet on Wilson's open-floor ball-handling, mid-range scoring and passing continuing to improve to complement the quickness, explosion and defensive range that Boozer lacks.

As Wasserman mentioned, the Bulls really just need to take the best player available. Considering some scouts even like Wilson over Boozer, Wilson is the obvious choice if he's available at four.

In Chicago, Wilson would likely immediately start at power forward. The UNC product is super athletic, has a nice mid-range game, and is an above-average passer. As a result, Wilson's game would seemingly flow well with Josh Giddey and Matas Buzelis.

The Bulls would still need to add some shooting and a true center, but Wilson could end up being the best overall player on the team relatively quickly. A core of Giddey, Buzelis, Wilson, and Noa Essengue is very intriguing for the future.

Bulls looking to take advantage of lottery luck

2026 will be the first time having a top five pick for the Bulls since 2020. The team also had the No. 4 pick in that draft, and they ended up picking Patrick Williams. Obviously, the team is hoping to do better with this pick than that one, as Williams is now seen as one of the worst contracts in the league.

The Bulls famously picked Derrick Rose with the No. 1 pick in 2008, but since then, Williams has been their only top-five selection. Wilson, or whoever the team picks, has a chance to become the next face of one of the most storied franchises in professional sports.
