It's still way too early to feel great about whether or not the Ohio State basketball team will make the NCAA Tournament after missing it three straight years, but we still like to know what all of the experts and analytics say as we go through the 2025-26 season.
To date, Ohio State has had a solid, not great, start to the season, and everyone's favorite bracketologist, Joe Lunardi, has had the Buckeyes in the field throughout so far. Lunardi is one of the few that keeps up with where teams stand for March Madness throughout the entire season, and he just released his latest update this past week.
So, where is Ohio State according to Lunardi after the Buckeyes found a way to come back against West Virginia in epic fashion last weekend? According to Lunardi, Ohio State would be a No. 9 seed, up from showing as a No. 10 seed last time he went through the effort of projecting the NCAA field.
As far as what region Lundardi has the Buckeyes in, he shows them East playing against No. 8 seed Utah State. There's almost zero chance of that matchup, seeding, and region holding at this point, but nonetheless, it's good to know Ohio State is trending to be a part of all of the March Mayhem at this point.
The body of work is just now being put together, and it'll be even more important for Ohio State to find a way to do well in the tough Big Ten to still be the type of team we could see traveling in a bracket near you soon. We'll continue to keep tabs on where Lunardi and other bracketologists have the Buckeyes as the season progresses.
