Washington Commanders star tackle Laremy Tunsil will miss "at least a significant portion of the regular season" with a torn triceps suffered in Saturday's practice, per NFL Network's Mike Garafolo and Steve Wyche.
Tunsil injured his triceps during a one-on-one pass-rush drill, per Garafolo and Wyche. The duo confirmed that he will likely need surgery, which would necessitate him sitting for most of the regular season.
This is a huge blow to the Commanders, who must now replace one of the best left tackles in the NFL for the long haul to keep quarterback Jayden Daniels upright during a hoped-for rebound season in D.C.
It's unfortunately possible depending on how his recovery goes.
The team could move Josh Conerly Jr. over to the left side and put in Andrew Wylie in at right tackle, play Wylie at left tackle or look for a new tackle via free agency or a trade.
