Los Angeles Lakers superstar Luka Doncic has reportedly separated from his fiancée, Anamaria Goltes, according to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin. He proposed to Goltes in July 2023 after the pair started dating in 2016.
In addition to the separation, Doncic is also reportedly in a custody battle for his two daughters. Goltes also filed a petition for Doncic to pay child support and attorney fees.
Doncic explained to ESPN that he wants his daughters to spend more time with him in the United States while he is in season. However, he has only seen his daughters for two days since the start of the Lakers’ training camp on Sept. 26.
“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible, so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement,” Doncic said in a statement to ESPN on Tuesday. “Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

Doncic Last Saw His Daughters and Goltes in Slovenia in December
Doncic visited Slovenia in early December 2025 for the birth of his second daughter, Olivia. She was born in Slovenia, while his first daughter, Gabriela, was born in the United States in November 2023 while Doncic was playing for the Dallas Mavericks.
He missed two games while in Slovenia against the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 4 and Boston Celtics on Dec. 5.
Doncic reportedly asked to bring Gabriela back to the United States when he returned for a game against the Philadelphia 76ers on Dec. 7. After a disagreement broke out between Doncic and Goltes at Kranj Maternity Hospital, Goltes filed a police report but police officers “did not detect any elements of a criminal offense or misdemeanor” by Doncic, according to ESPN.
Doncic has not seen his daughters or Goltes since his trip to Slovenia. Most recently, he filed an interim injunction seeking immediate contact with his daughters on Feb. 26.
