In his 20th World Cup game for Les Bleus, Mbappe also tallied his 20th goal, which kpt his goals-to-World Cup games ratio at 1:1. France and Morocco were drawing level during the first portion of the second half, but the French star was able to put his side on top for the remainder of the game thanks to this stellar effort.

Through his latest goal against Morocco, Mbappe was able to join Lionel Messi as the only two players to score at least 20 World Cup goals in tournament history. The Frenchman was able to reach the mark in only 20 matches, which is 11 fewer than Messi's tally.

It is important to mention that Mbappe is only 27 years old. He will comfortably have at least one more chance to alter his goals-game ratio, along with the general goal count. There is a high likelihood that Mbappe will be the only active soccer player within the top 10 of all-time World Cup goalscoring at the upcoming 2030 World Cup, wih Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Harry Kane likely to retire from tournament play.
