I have been 100% correct the entire time despite all the pushback. I got the final numbers within less than a million. Contrarian with me is a big fat L
What I saw was Brit questioning the $40 million initial offer. Nothing else. There's no L to take in that regard.

What Brit is basically stating is that Rodgers extension that happened weeks after Kyler's initial request had no impact on this negotiation.

So if you can get yourself to believe that the widely reported figure is inaccurate, you also believe that these negotiations did not occur within a fluid market.

You are a realtor. You know better than that.

Watson just got 230 million fully guaranteed

We only had to guarantee 160 million

I’d say the cardinals made out pretty damn good
And with the exception of Covid season the cap has gone up every year since 94’. The Watson contract didn’t significantly impact this deal like I thought it would.

No the agents first offer was leaked. It's why it's being reported again.

Take your L and stop with the contrariness

"Leaked". Come on man.

This board really needs to stop creating scenarios based on vague Internet rumors.

You think the FIRST offer was really $40m? In what universe does an agent low ball on the first offer?

The first offer you always go high. There is no way the first offer was "Were fine being the joint 4th best paid QB".

Anyway, moving on. If people want to believe that then it's up to them.

Lucky for everyone else, you don't get to dictate what the board really needs to stop doing.

North of the 49th.
How's it $30m in 22 when he's still on year 4 of his rookie deal?
SPOTRAC:
Kyler Murray signed a 5 year, $230,500,000 contract with the Arizona Cardinals, including a $29,035,000 signing bonus, $160,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $46,100,000. In 2022, Murray will earn a base salary of $965,000 and a signing bonus of $29,035,000, while carrying a cap hit of $6,772,000.

P.S. I noted that Chopper had suggested $45m x 5 on March 10th.

Thanks. The problem with reporting now is everyone wants to get the first tweet out which leads to dozens of inaccurate half assed messages.

So we paid more money, which matters for future cap space AND we didn't get needed cap relief during free agency. Bravo front office, bravo
If they didn’t have the money before, and it sounds like they didn’t, they would’ve had to take a loan. I’d much rather Kyler get the extra money than a lender.

full contract will be available in a few days -- just not worth arguing over the topline numbers

if the above on 2022 is to be believed -- the team created cap space of ~$5mm for this year with the extension. Presumably they plan to use it

Allen got $43M per year six months earlier. There is no way any agent is starting below that.

The $40M per year was pure speculation from media based off of Derek Carr getting a $40M per year extension around that time frame. Along with the $40M per year Dak deal from the season before.
