Konrad Laimer officially committed his future to Bayern Munich, and judging by his latest comments, there was never much doubt about where he wanted to be.

Speaking after signing his contract extension, Laimer made it clear that despite months of speculation surrounding his future, he remained calm throughout the entire process.

“I was always very relaxed about the whole situation. I’m happy that everything worked out and the deal is now done. It’s a lot of fun here with all the guys and the entire coaching staff. I’m ready to keep pushing, keep improving, and take the next step. A lot was written, but that’s just how the business works. I was always relaxed. For a long time, there wasn’t any contact at all, then there was more communication again, and after that things moved quickly. From my side, there was never any reason not to continue here — I always wanted to stay at the club,” Laimer said (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).

The Austrian international’s comments paint a very different picture from the one that often emerged in the media. While reports suggested negotiations had stalled and uncertainty surrounded his future, Laimer insists he never lost confidence that an agreement would eventually be reached.

Perhaps the biggest takeaway is his final statement: “I always wanted to stay at the club.” That is exactly the kind of commitment Bayern Munich supporters want to hear from one of the squad’s hardest-working players.

Since arriving in Munich, Laimer has become one of the team’s most dependable and versatile performers. Whether deployed in midfield, at right-back, left-back, or wherever he is needed, his relentless work rate, intensity, and professionalism have made him a valuable asset under Vincent Kompany.

Now, with his future secured, Laimer is focused on the next challenge rather than looking back. His goal is not simply to maintain his level, but to continue improving and help Bayern compete for every trophy available.

For Bayern Munich, extending Laimer’s contract provides continuity and rewards a player who has consistently put the team first. For Laimer, it is the opportunity to continue building on what he believes is the perfect environment to grow.

His message is simple — despite all the rumors, Bayern Munich was always where he wanted to be.
