Skelton did go to Fordham but he is a dunce on the football field. His decision making is horrendous at times and too often to be successful in the NFL.

That said I picked him over Kolb in preseason. Hope he gets it together.

I know our OL sucks, but the fact of the matter is that we're about to lose him for another long stretch. This, more than anything, in my opinion, is why he is not the long-term answer for us at Quarterback. Don't confuse this post as implying that he's weak, scared, or gutless. I don't think any of those things. He's just injury prone.

that was my opinion as well headed into the season. Then Skelton became the fragile one in game 1. Kolb took MUCH more of a beating, and lasted much longer. Sacked TWENTY-SEVEN times. He held up pretty damn well IMO. Skelton has already missed about 5 games this year. We'll see if he can survive the duration of Kolb's injury now

I thought so too. In the 1st quarter vs SEA as well. But the 2nd quarter and when he came in vs BUF, he looked pitiful

Dude, that is not good news. I didn't like the Kolb signing, but boy howdy did he ever earn some respect for me for his play in the last three games. Ya, he left quite a bit of points out there, missed reads and throws, but with that OLine, 60% (near enough) pass completion and only three picks (ya they are never good) I think he just might have been the GMOTP (game manager of the present), till we luck into the QOTF.

What I saw on tape was that Kevin - having realized that Powell blew the assignment - decided to roll to his right, hoping he could eke out out a 3yard gain & a first down. In doing so, he was tackled from behind, fell on the ball and then was piled on by two defenders.

So, while it would be fair to say that Powell's error set forth the chain of events that caused Kolb's injury, it was an indirect cause. In the past, Kevin had been known to get injured after taking off on his own. This was just a continuation of that pattern.

As for Wi Po - chalk it up to unintended consequences and a bitter lesson-learned.

The season pretty much isn't over for me until Lindley comes in. Kolb, Skelton, they've both shown they can win some games or at least not hurt us too bad when we are trying to win a game. Only thing about this injury is the recovery time, and how long can John play behind this line.

We got real lucky with Kolb lasting as long as he did with Skelton needing time....maybe they really are best friends. Maybe they both know what's coming playing behind Grimm's O-line and have figured out it aint their fault a lot of the time.

I got my Skeleton shirt ready for Minny, we really need him to hold up or we are toast after a beautiful start. This O-line has probably prevented us from making a nice run in the play-offs. If Skelton can hold up we still gotta shot, Kolb made it for almost 6 games so anything is possible.

I thought Kolb had injured his ankle on the previous play when the defender fell on Kevin's legs and that was why he went down.

Like you I was watching on the computer and things aren't that clear. Never even noticed that Powell had apparently missed a hand off.

I hope Skelton looks better than he did vs BUF. Otherwise, we're gonna be screwed. They should run the PP wildcat more too. With the beating our guys are taking, give em a break now and then

I think the Cards will be fine with Skelton. He was the opening day starter. Kolb has played well but it's not like the Cards were setting the world on fire offensively. They can be every bit as productive, if not moreseo, with Skelton back there.

Kolb has my respect for fighting and being very tough and brave for this team. Hope he heals up ok.

I don't think we are toast if a mediocre QB is out.

the offensive line has any quarterback on our roster running for their lives
kolb is a much better scrambler than skelton who is very static but has a quicker release
which doesn't matter much if he doesn't have enough time for our receivers to run routes ,
wouldn't want to be in his shoes he has a tough road to hoe
