Kolb Doubtful to return this week (49er Game)

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network reports quarterback Kevin Kob is doubtful to return this week. La Canfor says Kolb is dealing with ligament damage, a bone bruise and sprain in foot in addition to turf toe.

When Kolb is healthy enough to play, the expectation is he returns as the starter despite the fact that John Skelton has won two straight games.

If Skelton wins in Frisco, I expect the next report on Kolb's injury to get even worse via Az Cardinals.

Perfect way to handle this situation. It gives Skelton a chance to perform against better competition, and it doesn't make it look like you have completely lost confidence in Kolb. If Skelton falls flat, Kolb will be back.
