The New York Knicks star caught up with PEOPLE exclusively ahead of Game 1 of the 2026 NBA Finals about his mental and physical preparation to perform his best when his team takes on the San Antonio Spurs in the best-of-seven series beginning Wednesday, June 3.

That includes the work he's putting in both on and off the basketball court, from the gym to the kitchen, which is why he's teamed up with Beyond Immerse as the protein brand's newest ambassador to ensure he's fueling his body with the appropriate nutrients at the same time.

"As an athlete, I'm hyper-focused on getting macronutrients in the cleanest forms possible and I've always been impressed with Beyond's commitment to delivering protein and nutrition with clean and simple ingredients," Hart, 31, tells PEOPLE exclusively of his newly announced partnership.

"Instead of drinking four separate things, I can go to Beyond Immerse for clean protein, fiber, antioxidants and electrolytes," he continues. "It's light and sparkling. Not a heavy protein shake full of dairy or whey, and helps me to build and recover efficiently."

Hart, who's set to headline a summer of performance-focused fitness activations and events with Beyond Immerse, is already intertwining it into his daily routine. He says that "efficiency" is the name of the game for him and his jam-packed schedule, which makes this an easy choice.

"I'm drinking it after practice and games, when working out or just between meals to keep going strong," he shares. "I love the idea that I'm getting all that nutrition but without additives or added sugar or sugar alcohols or other questionable stuff."

On Monday, May 25, the Knicks locked up their spot in the 2026 NBA Finals after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals, 130–93. New York swept Cleveland to advance to the championship series for the first time since 1999.

Now, Hart — who's a dad to twin sons Hendrix Aaron and Haze Dana, whom he welcomed with wife Shannon Hart in May 2023 — believes he stands out from other NBA players because of his endurance and commitment to his body, even amid his busy schedule.

"An 82-game season is really a test of consistency," he shares. "Everybody is talented in this league, but what separates players is the ability to show up every day, take care of your body and maintain the same level of focus and energy from Game 1 through Game 82 and beyond."

"It's not about finding shortcuts," he makes clear. "It's about building habits you can rely on every single day. For me, that starts with being intentional about recovery, nutrition, and how I fuel my body... Over the course of a long season, those small decisions add up."

While Hart means business when it's time to put in the work, especially now that he's a game away from the start of a career-defining stretch, he's also figured out how to manage the excitement of the moment while also staying disciplined about his habits.

"Balance is everything," he shares. "You want to appreciate the moment, especially when you've worked hard to get there, but you also can't get away from the habits that helped you reach that level. For me, it's about staying consistent."

He concludes, "At this level, the little things add up. So even when you're soaking in the moment, you still have to stay disciplined about the routine that got you there."
