The Boston Celtics have won a championship with the duo of Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum, but Kendrick Perkins is questioning their relationship.

This comes amid widespread rumors of the Celtics trying to acquire Giannis Antetokounmpo. Any trade for the two-time MVP would have to seemingly involve Brown being dealt. However, some believe that the Celtics do not need Antetokounmpo and should not break up the duo of Brown and Tatum.

They have been to the NBA Finals twice together, winning the Finals in 2024. Last season, Brown led the team with Tatum out for most of the season. Brown made headlines after the season, saying it was his favorite season. It raised questions about his desire to keep playing as Tatum's No. 2. Neither Brown nor Tatum has indicated that things between them are going downhill, but Perkins foolishly noted that their relationship may not be great.

"Like, I'm still waiting on Jayson Tatum to join Jaylen Brown's stream," Perkins said on Yahoo Sports Daily. "Like, Jayson Tatum, I done seen him on a million podcasts, but I haven't seen him join Jaylen Brown, which goes to, which shows me that that relationship off the floor ain't really there."

Pointing to the fact that Tatum has not appeared on Brown's Twitch channel as a reason to think they are not close is a stretch. Brown and Tatum have done nothing but speak highly of each other. It's not easy to win the Finals, and the two have proven that they are capable of coexisting and competing year in and year out.
