Word out of Knoxville is that he will not be cleared for contact until August, at the earliest.

Interesting, Skip Bayless wrote in today's SJ Mercury News that the 49ers should do anything they can to get Washington who he thinks is the most underrated guy in the draft. He quoted several NFL people as saying Washington has cleared all medical hurdles and it's merely fear of his history of injuries, and his personality, that is causing so many teams to step back from him.

If he really isn't fully medically cleared he may drop quite a bit tomorrow.

Good! If he's there at number 2 we need to take him. This move would make more sense if we already had Marcus Robinson signed.
