Kellen Moore didn't offer the most convincing response to questions about Alvin Kamara's future with the team. Following the New Orleans Saints' high-profile free agent signing of former Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr., questions arose about whether Kamara could retire or move on to another team. The Saints reworked Kamara's contract to create immediate salary cap relief while also making it easier to part ways with him this offseason, if it comes to that.

For his part, Moore declined to discuss it during Thursday's press conference: "We'd like to go through that process, certainly. We feel, obviously we know Alvin means a lot to us. We're three days into this thing, we signed Travis and we'll go through that process" with Kamara. He added "Um, I'm not going to get into all that stuff right now. I haven't had those conversations in any ways."

He demurred on similar questions about Taysom Hill and Cameron Jordan. Both free agents and getting up there in years, Jordan and Hill are at a more pressing crossroads than Kamara. Jordan is coming off a 10.5-sack season and is facing what may be his last chance to sign a big-money contract, which may not be with the Saints. Hill clearly lost a step after returning from a major knee injury and seems poised to hang up his cleats -- unless the long-teased reunion with Sean Payton on the Denver Broncos manifests itself.

But Moore is right: we're only a couple of days into the offseason. All three of these guys could be on the roster in September. Each of them could be elsewhere, too. It's too soon to say for sure, but all of that uncertainty suggests there's a real possibility at least some of them won't be wearing black and gold.
