Out of the frying pan, into the fryer. Filoni and Brennan are not going to be any better for the franchise. They're just going to continue the same garbage that Kennedy has been producing. We need new blood there.

I actually like Filoni and Favreau's work in Star Wars. I am OK with it. Not that it couldn't use new blood.

Favreau, yes. Filoni is as mid as they come and shouldn't be the creative lead. Look what the last 10 years has given us with him as one of the top people there. All we're going to get is more of the same garbage that we've been getting.

I can't agree. Especially counting the animated stuff. I have loved the majority of his stuff. Although I would think with him being the creative lead it will lead to more producing.

Creative lead might be good.
Maybe keep him from creating...just supervise others as they create...

Although...Bad Batch was pretty awesome

Well he's in love with world between worlds so get ready for multiverse type slop in SW. It worked so well for the MCU that it couldn't be bad. I hope I'm wrong and he makes something good. I really want good Star Wars. I just don't think this team is capable of of it and new leadership is needed.

I have faith in Filoni, Favreau and some of the new talent. World between worlds is awesome IMO if they use it like in Ahsoka.

I do agree on bringing in some new blood. I would like to see them bring in new directors/writers and take some chances. If someone nails something nothing wrong with them bring that person back for other projects either.

I still want to see the Old Republic in a bad way.

I just don't believe that at all. At least Filoni understands the world

Wow it was Kennedy. I guess she goes out with her best project.
Her name is on it just as a producer since she gets credited as one ever everything from Lucas Film.

It was Tony Gilroy that did Andor. He's top notch. I'd like to see him do more SW. He also wrote Rogue One, the only other good Disney SW title, and the Bourne movies.

Just more of that and the first two season of the Mandalorian and we are good

She was also in charge of greenlighting projects and deciding if they should move forward. So, she gets a ton of credit with me despite some of her missteps.

I still can't believe all you bozos hate on "Solo"
Movie was awesome.
I am not a Solo hater. It's sitting in my 4K collection and on my movie server. In fact, I think I said this in another thread. That movie has actually grown on me over time and actually like it now more than when it first came out.

That's fair.

To her credit, she did greenlight Rogue One, which is the best Star Wars film since Jedi, maybe even Empire.

Who did Andor because that's top tier Star Wars?

It’s the canary in the coalmine because
Tony Gilroy (one of the industry’s greatest screenwriters ever) was head honcho of that ship. Word was he would only do it if Star Wars powers that be (Kennedy/Filoni/etc) let him play in his own sandbox that he got to dictate all creative terms pretty much all by his lonesome assuming he could come within budget.

So Kennedy gets credit for hiring and sign off, but really her credit stops with getting out of the way of greatness and letting Gilroy cook.

Tony Gilroy in an interview said Andor doesn't exist without her. She fought for the show, she fought for the budget when Disney wasn't convinced about the project. The rest I agree with.

She has protected the show and protected me and wrangled a team together.

She backed our play and got everything that we were doing,” Gilroy recalls.

There’s no show without her. For all the crap that she takes online, it’s just insane. This show exists because she forced it to happen. What a tough job she has, man.

So... exactly what a producer should be doing.

True but if they don't believe in something it likely never gets off the ground let alone gets a 2nd season. There are plenty of crappy producers. I think the criticism of her in some cases is warranted and in others extreme.

That's definitely fair.

But equally fair is that recent history shows that Marvel has been putting out far more mediocre to bad material than Star Wars has. I guess we can be thankful that Feige isn't taking over Lucasfilm. LOL

None of its sustainable IMO. Not Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek etc. Sooner or later they all hit speedbumps.

If they want to keep milking Trek they need to move away from TV and get Chris, Zach, Zoe, Karl, and all the boys back together again.
They had 4 movies left with that cast at least....
Perfect alternate timeliness set up that's basically going to waste.
I understand the kid died. But that's not reason to stop making the movies..either recast Chekov, or kill him off off screen and hire a replacement...again, alternate timeline already established

No way. I hate the alternate timeline. It's not even Star Trek. If they were going to go back to movies, then I would prefer them to reboot it without changing the timeline. They have plenty of stories without doing that nonsense. It's the Star Trek version of the multiverse, which is what is so bad about Marvel.

I'm still open to the TV model, Strange New Worlds was decent, but they should really go back to the TNG model.
