Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Justin Fields spoke with reporters Thursday after practice at Missouri Western State University. He discussed his potential role on offense and adjusting to the team's playbook.
"Really just getting on the field and getting back in game mode, to be honest with you," said Fields. "I don't know how much (Head) Coach (Andy) Reid plans on showing, but whatever we get, being able to get back in real game time and getting that feeling. And it should be fun for the guys that are going to get out there and especially some new young rookies. So, I'm excited to see everybody out there."
The New York Jets dealt Fields to the Chiefs in exchange for a 2027 6th-round pick. He has earned a reputation as a scrambling quarterback who can make plays with his legs, leading many to believe he could be in line for special game plans on offense.
"I feel like we've only put in a couple of them, but of course, I'm used to it," said Fields. "I've been doing it my whole career, so yeah, pretty comfortable with all of them."
Fields' 2025 season in New York ended with 7 touchdowns and 1 interception, rushing for 383 yards and 4 touchdowns.
