Julia Kipperman puts on scoring show in Nauset girls lacrosse win

Julia Kipperman of the Nauset High girls lacrosse team has been one of the best players on the Cape and Islands and in the state.

In a 18-9 win over Hampshire Regional on Saturday, she showed why with 10 goals.

Meg Sullivan scored four goals, Chloe Violet added two goals and Reese Ferguson and Kapka Thompson each scored once. Norah Swanson had 12 saves.

Girls Lacrosse​


St. John Paul II 19, Monson 7: The Lions (5-8) snapped a three-game slide. Sophie Philbrick (one goal, three assists), Akira Umbrello (five goals, three assists), Raegan Dillon (two goals, three assists), Lexi McCarthy (two goals), Emerson Meagher (one goal, one assist), Helen Johnson (one goal), Kaitlin Chun (two goals, one assist), Sophie Jansen (three goals, one assist), Catie McGrail (one goal), Riley Mullien (one assist) and Allison McGrail (one assist) led the offense.

Boys Lacrosse​


Martha’s Vineyard 18, Dennis-Yarmouth 7: The Vineyarders (4-7) recorded thweir first win since April 8 as they upset the Dolphins (8-3).

Softball​


Bishop Stang 13, Barnstable 1(5 innings): The Red Hawks (2-11) dropped seventh straight.

Baseball​


Martha’s Vineyard 6, Cohasset 0: The Vineyarders (7-8) recorded a shutout win for the first time this season. Lathrop Keene threw a compete game, scattered three hits and struck out nine. He also homered at the plate. Jason Alton tripled, scored two runs and drove in one run. Max Metell had an RBI double and scored a run.

St. John Paul II 8, Archbishop Williams 4: The Lions (12-2) bounced back from yesterday's loss. Henry Roy picked up the win as he went 4 1/3 innings, allowed six hits, three earned runs and struck out seven. Drew Richards had the save over 2 2/3 innings, gave up three no hits and no runs.

Logan Our finished 1-for-1 with one double and three walks. Roy was 1-for-3 with two RBIs and Sam Scioletti went 2-for3 with two RBIs. Brandon Gomes, Ryan Amerault and Luke Souza each finished with a hit

Nantucket 13, Brighton 12: The Whalers (8-6) stopped a three-game losing streak.
