Jude Bellingham’s brace against Norway pushed his tournament tally to six goals, tying the record for most goals scored by an Englishman in a single World Cup - a mark previously held jointly by Gary Lineker’s 1986 campaign and Harry Kane’s Golden Boot-winning run in 2018. Kane also has six of his own this summer, meaning two England players are sitting on the record at the same time, in the same tournament.

Midfielder Jude Bellingham was named Man of the Match as England beat Norway 2-1 after extra time at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, reaching the semifinal for just the fourth time in the nation’s history and the first since 2018.

Every Goal, Every Stage

Here’s the complete picture of Bellingham’s 2026 tournament, goal by goal.

vs. PanamaFinal group match62′Broke the deadlock in a must-win game

England has won every match Bellingham has scored in this tournament - four for four.

Where He Sits On England’s All-Time List

Bellingham’s six 2026 goals sit on top of a header he scored against Iran at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, putting his career World Cup tally at seven. That’s already enough to move him above Sir Geoff Hurst’s five and level with the next tier of England World Cup scorers, though he remains well behind the two men at the very top.

Kane’s 14 extended past Lineker’s career record of 10 earlier in this tournament, a four-goal margin that no other England player is within realistic reach of before this World Cup ends. The single-tournament record is a different, more crowded conversation - and with two matches still to play, Bellingham has a genuine chance to become the outright holder of that mark rather than sharing it. One more goal in the semifinal or final would do it.

The Golden Boot Picture

Heading into the semifinals, Lionel Messi leads the Golden Boot race with eight goals, Erling Haaland sits on seven after Saturday’s match kept him off the scoresheet, and Kane and Bellingham are tied on six apiece. FIFA’s Golden Boot tiebreakers go to assists next, then total minutes played, if the goal count stays level when the tournament ends.

For historical context on how rare this kind of midfield output is, Bobby Charlton - the last England midfielder this central to a World Cup run - scored three goals across the entire 1966 tournament England actually won, one in the group stage and two in the semifinal win over Portugal. Bellingham has already more than doubled that with the final still two matches away.

Bellingham has been open about carrying real weight for this England side. After the win over Mexico, he said, “I’m aware of the pressure that I carry along with all the other players,” while also crediting the wider squad’s belief.

End Of Jude Bellingham Rant

Two records equaled, a career World Cup tally that has jumped from one goal to seven in the space of a single tournament, and a perfect 4-0 record for England in matches he’s scored in. With the semifinal against the winner of Argentina and Switzerland still to come, one more Bellingham goal would make him the sole holder of England’s single-tournament scoring record outright
