The New York Giants are the latest team to host a workout for former Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold, who's facing eight combined charges of kidnapping and armed robbery.
The Lions cut the 23-year-old former first-round pick after his arrest in June, but several teams have given Arnold a look since despite the fact that he could face life in prison if convicted.
The Giants hosted Arnold on Wednesday, and Harbaugh was asked about the decision in his post-practice news conference. He cited tight margins in the NFL and declared that Arnold "can help us."
"We want to be aggressive in every way, whatever we can do, find anything out we can about any situation or player that can help us be better," Harbaugh told reporters of considering signing Arnold. "The margins are tight. … We're looking for players all the time. He's a player that can help us."
Harbaugh then addressed the felony charges Arnold faces, calling them "circumstances."
"That's something that also the organization has studied very deeply. I've gotten an overview of it. The organization has looked at it in depth. If there is a decision to be made on any player, you don't want to go there with a player, then this organization won't go there."
Harbaugh sounds open to signing Arnold as he seeks to make an immediate impact on the Giants in his first year on the job. His comments echoed those of Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald from Monday after the Super Bowl champions hosted Arnold for a workout on Sunday.
"We had him in for a great visit, a great tryout," Macdonald told reporters of Arnold. "It's a situation where there's other things that are surrounding it as well. We're aware of that. We're working through the situation right now. …
"But it was a great visit. I really enjoyed meeting him, and I think he enjoyed being here, so we'll see where it goes."
Arnold previously worked out for the Houston Texans and met with the New Orleans Saints on Monday. The New York Jets and Indianapolis Colts were previously in touch with Arnold, according to reported court testimony from Arnold's agent.
Arnold is a standout young cornerback whom the Lions selected with the 24th pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. His talent and age add up to tremendous value in the NFL that's causing teams to consider overlooking his character concerns and legal peril.

Arnold faces three counts of armed robbery, three counts of kidnapping, one count of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping stemming from an alleged incident in February resulted in his arrest in Tampa, Florida, on June 24.
Arnold is accused of orchestrating an abduction and interrogation of three men, identified as his personal driver and two of the driver's associates, who were accused of stealing more than $250,000 in personal property belonging to the defendants from an Airbnb.
Police claim members of Arnold's group ambushed the alleged victims at an apartment and spent the better part of an hour beating them at gunpoint, with one of the defendants livestreaming the proceedings to Arnold while he was en route to the apartment.
Per police, the victims were eventually released at around 1:40 a.m. Tampa police describe Arnold as "the primary conspirator" in the incident that resulted in the arrest of six others.
Arnold has denied the allegations via a statement from his representative, Denise White.
Arnold has been free on $1 million bond and is scheduled for an arraignment hearing Thursday in Tampa, where he'll be slated to enter a formal plea.
Beyond Thursday's hearing, what's next on the legal front for Arnold is unclear. But assuming he pleads not guilty and remains free from jail or prison, it's safe to assume that NFL teams will continue to weigh the upside of signing Arnold against the obvious downside.
