The Houston Astros beat the Blue Jays 9-7 in 11 innings Tuesday night in Toronto. Joey Loperfido hit a tiebreaking homer in the 11th to win it, evening out the series. A historic night at the plate for the Astros offense.

Yainer Diaz, Cam Smith, and Taylor Trammell hit three consecutive home runs off Shane Bieber. An insane home run streak. This was the first time the Astros have hit three straight homers since Altuve, Bregman, and Alvarez did it against Texas in 2019. A huge response after Bieber's strong start to the game.

Toronto answered and took a 6-4 lead on Kazuma Okamoto's two-out single in the eighth. The Astros tied it right back in the top of the ninth against Tyler Rogers.

Jose Altuve started the 11th as the automatic runner at second. Toronto intentionally walked Yordan Alvarez to set up a force play, but Braydon Fisher struck out Christian Walker and Isaac Paredes. But then Joey Loperfido came through with his first homer of the season to win it.

Logan VanWey picked up the first win of his career, working two scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Peter Lambert started the game and worked into the seventh, picking up his fourth win in his last five starts. The Astros are now tied for first in the AL in road batting average.

The Astros improve to 38-43 and are 10-7 in their last three road trips combined. Yordan Alvarez's 25 home runs are tied for second most in franchise history through 80 games. The Astros have won 6 of their last 9 against Toronto.

A statement win for an offense that has been finding ways to come through in big moments. The Astros are quietly putting together one of their better stretches of the season. Mike Burrows faces Trey Yesavage tonight in the series finale.
