Job done! RBS women take big win
3-1 success at USV Neulengbach could have been higher
USV Neulengbach 1-3 FC Red Bull Salzburg Women (H/T:0-2). Goals: Wondrejc (83') - Kobler (7', 67'), Hamzic (27')
At the Wienerwaldstadion, our FC Red Bull Salzburg Women delivered a championship-group-worthy performance and secured a comfortable 3-1 victory. Double goalscorer Emelie Kobler, Aldina Hamzic, and their teammates climbed to fourth place in the ADMIRAL Women's Bundesliga, putting SCR Altach under pressure tomorrow.
Match summary
There was one-way traffic in Lower Austria! Our team's early momentum paid off immediately, with the opening goal coming courtesy of sluggish defending by Makalic for the hosts, who failed to clear a cross adequately, and Emelie Kobler gratefully accepted the gift, finishing with a free header (7'). Several factors subsequently prevented a second goal. The offside flag stopped Julia Grünwald's goal celebration, while goalkeeper Kandlhofer made vital interventions. On other occasions, the woodwork came to the hosts' rescue – Vina Crnoja, for example, hit the crossbar with a free kick.
However, there was no time for any real frustration, as the hosts forgot about Aldina Hamzic after another set piece and were left as on-lookers when the centre-back doubled the lead with a header (27'). The game continued in the same vein until the half-time whistle – as Sophia Schirmbrand hit the woodwork, then Hamzic put the ball over – and the two-goal cushion remained at the break.

After the restart, the team from the Vienna Woods tried to respond, but their efforts – Willimek tried her luck from distance around the hour mark – were insufficient to create any meaningful chances. Our team were significantly more clinical. Grünwald found Kobler with a through ball, which the striker converted as goalkeeper Kandlhofer couldn't get a touch to it (67'). In that respect, she had something in common with USV Neulengbach overall. Although substitute Wondrejc limited the damage after some penalty area pinball – 1-3 (83') – our side took a resounding win, and now it's over to Altach, who need points against SK Sturm tomorrow to snatch the final championship group spot from us.

The victory was never in doubt, as the girls played with complete confidence. I'm very pleased with the composure we displayed. We could have scored even more goals, as we hit the crossbar and post, and had a few other excellent opportunities. I'm extremely satisfied with the performance. We did our part of the job, and that's the most important thing!
