Joaquin Niemann climbs in Official World Golf Ranking, Shane Lowry slips

The Official World Golf Ranking has been updated for the week of August 11, 2026, and Scottie Scheffler isn't going anywhere in his perch atop the list.

After a big victory at the LIV Golf New York event, Joaquin Niemann has climbed 12 spots to No. 42 in the rankings, marking his highest ranking in years. While Niemann jumped into the top 50, Shane Lowry slipped out, dropping from No. 49 to No. 51.

The OWGR system is calculated by awarding points from eligible tours and events to participating players over a rolling two-year period. Players are ranked weekly based on the points they earn, divided by the number of events they played in, to calculate an average total. Points hold their full value for a 13-week period and are then reduced in equal decrements. The current ranking for the Top 50 golfers in the world appears below.
