A big surprise, to me, that he is still playing this season. Cudos to 99 on a great finale (if that's how it ends up).

I think if they would have done better last year, he would have retired at the end of 2021...but the way they ended and him having another big injury (which he valiantly came back from) got him to come back this year, just to prove he still had it and could be injury free.

Best wishes to him and his family. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see the Cardinals find a spot for him in the organization or future coaching staff. His mentality and knowledge is what this team needs to keep on hand.

They mentioned Sunday night, at one point he had only missed one play the entire game. I was already thinking he was done and was aiming to go out on a personal high note.

He is going out with his reputation intact, and a beautiful family to enjoy fully now... unlike some guys who play QB :)
This...new son and a heart condition that may, or may not (totally unknown) come back again...Definitely time to hang them up. Go out healthy.

Not at all. He's a first-ballot hall of famer and potentially a top 10 all-time defensive great. He gave more effort to this organization than we've seen from a lot of late-career free agents. Nothing but love for J.J. If he can walk away from the game on his terms and still get out of bed in the morning under his own power, that's great for him.

JJ gets to live the dream and be a full-time dad and husband while his wife still competes at a high level! Love it!

Can't wait for his Instagram/Twitter!

He'll be missed, but his next phase of good life if about family!
