Today's Game

Wednesday, 8:30pmvs. JazzTV: , ESPN, FSAZ Preview

This will be a good game tonight. Since Seattle won last night it would be nice to keep pace and win tonight. Jazz are strugling with out AK47, so it should be a good night for Marion. I hope to see Hunter get more minutes tonight. Should be a good game to listen/watch.

If you can't see the game in person join us on the live chat during every game.

Watch is the key word here. The Jazz flagship station will be broadcasting this one unlike the one on the 30th of November. I will finally get to see this team play. Hopefully they won't lay and egg like they have been against the Jazz in the last few years.

Kirilenko is supposed to be out another month and may not start rehabbing his MCL until Christmas. Still this could be a tough game tonight because Utah always seems to give us a challenge. Boozer will probably have a huge night again like he did last time. Still I think the Suns will come prepared with energy and hustle and run the jazz out of the arena.

The Jazz will not score 90 points.........Suns by 10.

(They will play the bench in the 4th quarter)

I just hope Suns doesn't put too much pressure on them because it's on national TV...not like last time against Cavs. hehe

i think the boys are poised to come out smoking. they know that the only thing that most of the nation has seen of 'em has been the cleveland debacle. i think they're cognizant of this being on national television and want redemption. at least, i hope so.

Joe Johnson: "Sign me to an extension--FAST!"

Some cruel person is going to go back into the archives and dig up some of the posts this summer about how JJ was going to fall apart after the Suns signed Q.

It was impressive that the Suns could dominate even with Amare in foul trouble. At the same time, you knew Sloan had given up the ghost when Boozer did not come back in. I think he was tuckered out.

In some ways it was a difficult game. The refs were not calling the interior fouls the same way on both ends. Amare was getting butchered and should have been to the line a dozen more times, yet he and Hunter was getting hit with ticky tack over and over.

Overall, Barbosa had a good game (needs to pass rather than challenge shot blockers, but he'll learn), Lampe had some good minutes, and JJ was incredible. It is amazing how the Suns now have four guys with 30 point games and Nash could if he wanted to.

The way the game was being called really hurt Hunter. He had some nice plays and had another blocker. For whatever it is worth, Hunter leads the NBA in blocks per 48 minutes at 5.84.

Actually, he's not the only Suns leading the league in 48 minute stats:

Stoudemire - Scoring 34.1 ppg
Stoudemire - Field Goals Made 12.5
Nash - Assists 15.4 assists per game

The NBA has a statistic called "efficiency"
Efficiency Formula: ((PTS + REB + AST + STL + BLK) - ((FGA - FGM) + (FTA - FTM) + TO)) / G

4. Amare Stoudemire (Phoenix Suns) 21 games 34.88
7. Shawn Marion (Phoenix Suns) 21 games 32.15
10. Steve Nash (Phoenix Suns) 21 games 31.29

The Heat with Shaq and Wade are the only other team with more than one guy in the top ten.

I continue to be amazed at how badly this team PUMMELS the teams they should beat. Watching the game tonight almost got to the point of boredom - they looked like such a machine out there.

Everyone is playing great ball - Marion, JJ - hell - even Lampe. Question on JJ - will he be unrestricted this off-season or will he be a restricted free agent? Either way - the kid has REALLY grown into his role and has about the smoothest game of anyone on the entire club.

Can't wait for Friday against Seattle!

Restricted. However, I am sticking to my pre season on him. He will get a very very large offer this summer, most likely from the Bobcats. The price on him will be huge if we want to match (60 over 6, well the equiv in new bargaining agreement. I think that might wind up being low too).

All he needed to show was consistancy, every knows he can light it up if given the chance. Shooting over 50% from 3 25% through the season would be called consistancy in my book. Just so people know, he is #18 in attempts as well (while Hoiberg is #82) and is shooting at least 10 percent BETTER than anyone above him in attempts.

edit: Add Cleveland to the list of teams I am worried about pushing hard for JJ. They really want Redd, but he could get traded this season hurting their chances. They want a shooter to spread the floor for Lebron, and JJ is proving his worth there this season. Not to mention they will have max dollars to spend this summer.

On a more depressing note, Q is second in attempts shooting a woeful 34.2%

I can't see this team NOT matching any offer for JJ - if anything - they'll have Q as very enticing trade bait - with a decent contract. We CAN match whatever deal he's given - right?

Jerry Sloan: "They destroy your will to win."

That is THE greatest thing I have ever heard about the Suns! This season has been unbelievable so far.

good point, i've only seen the dec, 2nd match vs. the cavs and the nov, 22nd match vs. bulls, so far and none of the two teams seemed to have the will to turn the game around. we were leading with 16, 18 or higher and no effort from a opposing team to try to cut the lead, the game went on for the suns win.

That was the first Suns game I've seen this season, and it is cool to see them do so well. They are exciting to watch, that's for sure.

It's just too bad the arena isn't selling out.
