The Utah Jazz are in a complex position as the 2026 NBA Draft nears. The Jazz currently hold the No. 2 overall pick, giving them a difficult choice of who to select between the star-studded trio of AJ Dybantsa (BYU), Darryn Peterson (Kansas) and Cameron Boozer (Duke).
To complicate matters even further, earlier this week, Peterson refused to workout for every team besides the Washington Wizards, who hold the No. 1 pick. According to The Athletic, Jazz executives are still having trouble making a decision one week away from the draft. The franchise was described as "genuinely torn" between the trio of prospects. Considering the Jazz drafted a small forward (Ace Bailey) with a top-five pick last season, the choice between Peterson and Boozer would be much more difficult if Dybantsa were already off the board. Given Utah's crowded frontcourt, which includes Lauri Markkanen and Jaren Jackson Jr., Peterson may be the best positional fit. However, Boozer has a winning track record, and his father spent six seasons with the franchise from 2004 to 2010.
While it seems like the Jazz can't go wrong between the three generational prospects, it's clear that they are struggling to come to a consensus.
