This week, Chiefs Wire's Ed Easton Jr. spoke with ESPN basketball analyst Jay Bilas.

In his interview with Easton Jr., Bilas discusses his participation in this year's American Century Championship, which will take place July 10-12 at Edgewood Tahoe and air on NBC and Peacock. He recalled his experience teaming with Travis and Jason Kelce for their Garage Beer commercial.

"Guys want to win, and if you're not going to win, you certainly want to show your best," said Bilas of the competition level at the American Century Championship. So definitely you hear it when Larry Fitzgerald says, 'Hey, I got you, and some. Still, a lot of times, we'll be on a tee box, maybe waiting, somebody finishes a hole, you're about to tee off, and everybody likes to tell their horror stories too, I four-putted or something like that, so it's really fun."

Bilas, during March Madness, teamed up with Garage Beer, co-owned by Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, for the commercial 'Jay Bilas, Attorney at Lager'.

"Garage Beer it's actually Jason and Travis Kelce, and so when I was approached about it, I was like, well, I like Jason and Travis, I like beer, and I love the idea they built it off of the fact that I'm a lawyer, in addition to doing the other stuff that I do, and it was pitched as a kind of a 'Better Call Saul' type of thing," said Bilas, "So, the one thing, the one thing that came out of it, I hope it wound up being good. I enjoyed doing it, but I won't ask for the wardrobe because it wasn't high-caliber stuff. They wanted me to look kind of like Saul Goodman did in 'Better Call Saul', so it was not high-level clothing, and maybe people didn't notice the difference, maybe I looked that bad all the time, but it was hilarious. I mean, it was so much fun to do, I really had a good time doing it, and they gave me a lot of Garage Beer for my garage refrigerator, so I got that going for me too, which is nice."

The annual tournament awards $750,000 in prize money, much of which the celebrity players donate to local and national charities. Over the years, over $8 million has been donated to non-profit causes. Network television exposure on NBC/Peacock and a first-place prize of $150,000 make the celebrity tournament one of the most prestigious in golf.
