after the public relations nightmares this guy has already gone through you would think he would be really focused on not screwing up for the rest of his college career....but no,.......

busted stealing CRAB LEGS!!! F'n REALLY??!

very likely the best QB in the 2015 draft will not go in the top 10.....maybe not even the first round,....serious maturity issues with this kid.

For the non-facebook people.

What a moron.

Though it also could be used as rationale for the paying of college students via the unionization question.

Stealing soda in a ketchup cup at Burger King? That's a new one. That's probably 2 liter cap size! Was he a moron going up to the soda machine 50 times because of its small size giving his crime away?

The guy has some issues, and maybe far worse issues then we can 'prove' at this time.

But it does make the NCAA look bad that alot of these crimes are food related. I personally just don't see why they can't allow the schools to issue some sort of card where they can buy food on it. I know ASU has tons of fast food places on campus, including a Burger King, so it also makes me wonder if they can do something with that. If not for everywhere, at least anywhere on campus plus if possible a certain radius around the campus. Maybe some of the places around ASU that take Sun dollars or whatever they're called (never used them). Maybe set limits on the card like $20 per meal max, used three times a day max.

It's sad though, because I guess that the number of college football programs would halve or less if unionization goes through. Big conference schools can afford paying, but not the lower end, and forget about I-AA and lower schools. I have a feeling unionization will help some players, while decimating the chances for half or more of other students. Also, since many great players come from small schools, the NFL pipeline won't be as full. But I guess it all depends on how much compensation they give the players.

Even then look at how Crow just added a sports fee + raised tuition at a time with less and less jobs available, paying lower wages like its 1985, etc. All these new fees are insane that they've added in the last few years, and at this point it may be cheaper for some to take a cab to ASU then pay for parking. What is it now $600, 700 for parking unless you want lot 59, 2 miles away from some classes? (and for some close to that 600-700 for the SDS parking structure...forgot the lot number)

Anyways, Jameis Winston is going to be hurt hard in the '15 draft. Rape allegations and shoplifting is worse then a Manziel bender.

But it also makes the NCAA look idiotic. Could put some fuel on the unionization fire. Because there simply shouldn't be a reason why college football players are in a position to shoplift food. As stupid as it is for Winston to do, they simply shouldn't be in that position.

In of itself, no, but we're seeing a pattern here.

It's also not too far past his whole rape allegations, and there are rumblings that the police didn't really have an investigation. So if you thought he 'learned his lesson' from the big deal the rape allegation was turning into, the answer is no, he didn't learn his lesson after such a big event.

http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/...e-allegations-against-fsu-jameis-winston.html

Court of law is one thing, but the NFL draft process will pound him for it because they aren't a court of law. While he may still be picked high or relatively high, it's almost certain it will be lower then without all these problems.

But read all the little petty crap, and then realize he's a QB and the guy who's supposed to lead the team. The guy that's supposed to be accountable over every other player on the team.

In November, the associated press reported that Winston was questioned about his involvement in a long-running BB gun battle, and that a Burger King reported Winston was stealing soda in a ketchup cup.

So while the rape allegations aren't public, but still floating around, he's doing crap like this. Now this.

Running around with a gun and shooting it, post Saudi Arabia funded 9/11? Absolutely idiotic. Kids are getting suspended from school for making a gun shape with their hands and this idiot is running around shooting one in a battle. He's lucky he didn't get shot by the police. Or....get his eye shot out by someone shooting a bb back at him.

The guy is a knucklehead at best.

The BB gun thing predates the rape charge. In fact when the police were informed that Winston had been identified as the suspect by the alleged victim, they didn't even need the address they'd just been there the prior week because he and his roommates were shooting out windows in their dorm with bb guns having a fight.

It's one of the worst things in the non investigation because when the victim told them who the accused was she told them a friend of his (gave the first name) had approached her in the bar and given her a drink she thinks was spiked. The police who investigated said they could not find the friend, yet they already knew who the friend was because they'd just interviewed him less than a week earlier in the BB gun case.

Not that I have first hand experience, but from what I understand they get anything they want from the cafeteria.

But wouldn't it generally be the same stuff. We all like variety. All their friends are enjoying variety, and much of the variety is housed on campus. Do people even use the cafeteria at ASU? I only saw people buying fast food when I went there.

Wasn't part of the ASU baseball violations besides paying students for work they didn't do, was food being bought?

The whole food thing should simply be taken out of the equation. It's not worth it for individual students nor institutions to have problems because of food imo given everything that applies to college sports.

If students do end up getting paid, alot of that money will be going to eat at places the athletes want to eat at.

scholarship athletes are getting(in many cases)a world class education.............free,......and meals,......free. technically they are working for it by playing their respective sports.

non scholarship students,.....like, say....ME for example(at the time)..... work two full time jobs, maintain 12-15 credit hours, sleep two hours a night six days a week,...and when lucky get to pound out a full eight hours sleep on sunday,........and live on top ramen, chicken leg quarters, and the cheap 70/30 hamburger,...no soda, no chips, no ice cream....and damn sure no crab legs..... I managed to pull this off while raising a newborn-4 yr old son and maintained a 3.87 GPA
Not only that,...in the case of the major sports, they are also receiving on the job training by top notch coaching talent to prepare them for multi million dollar jobs....an internship if you will....
the selfish little bastards really need to focus on being grateful for all of the opportunities they are getting to have a good future and quit whining like a bunch of pansy asses over having to pay their dues,...we all have to pay our dues in life. sometimes paying your dues means you go a little hungry sometimes, you have to stay home on the weekends instead of partying with your friends, you have to wear the same pair of tennis shoes the entire four years...... so F%$#*$@ what?

I don't get it. Any of it, and ref this idiot, and that's what he is, I've lived off of 1 meal a day for months, and 1 liter of water for months, and yet I still had to perform my duties and under extreme and physically demanding conditions. The athletes get get access to all the universities have to offer and yet do dumb crap like this. I wonder how all the athletes before them managed??? Or for that matter those who don't get a free ride, or food, and who have claw their way through college. Spoiled little *****...

in 1970 . .when I was a freshman at a Ohio Valley school I had a good friend who was a scholarship football player who got all the food he wanted 3 meals a day.He just showed his student ID and his name was checked off a list of football players on scholy.
Since I was trying to get by on 20 dollars a week to eat on and get whatever necessary items that popped up things stayed tight. When I was running low my football player buddy would tell me to go with him to the cafeteria,i would go to a table and he would really load up his tray then bring it to the table.
Sometimes I would give him a dollar or two if I could afford it.He was glad because he got sick of eating at the cafeteria and it helped me eat decently. The small town rolled up its sidewalks around 8 so if you wanted anything to eat you had a Burger Chef or walked a couple of miles to a IGA that closed at 11.
My friend liked the free food but some variety was wanted.

How embarrassing for Florida State fans. Do they even care about the way the athletes represent the university anymore? Or does he get a free pass because of the championship. I struggle to think of another player in recent memory that has less respect for the rules and regulations of their school and community.

At least the baseball team suspended him. As far as I know that is the first discipline he has ever received at FSU.

Putting the alleged rape that was dropped for lack of evidence a side for a moment, let me get this straight...

He was interrogated about involvement in a BB gun battle, Burger King reported that he heisted some soda in a ketchup cup, now this crab leg caper. Hmmmm....

Hopefully, no one finds out about the time he was forced to skip recess in kindergarten because he played keep away with his class mate's lunch box.

In light of these earth shattering revelations, I am not surprised that his draft stock is dropping like a rock, especially considering he has another year of play before then and could very well rack up another Heisman, unless he gets a traffic ticket or something of course...

He released a statement that said;

He bought other items that he paid for, but forgot to pay for the crab legs. How does one do that? The most expensive item in the basket( or was it down his pants) and that is the one he forgot to pay for. Self check out ( no one will notice ).

This is the point, those are just the times he got caught. Most people who break the law usually have a lot more offenses which never get found out. Lastly, though they might seem like trivial thefts, it is a pattern which might set up a far larger issue down the road. Someone needs to check his character before he does something really stupid, he is just in the suburbs of Moronville now lol

While they aren't big, that's sort of the point. He is out there risking life and limb for stupid reasons, not what a team that wants to spend millions of dollars on. Also not the sort of person they want to trust leading the team. We're also seeing a pattern of him being a grade A moron. Do NFL teams want to draft a moron?

Again, in today's America, if you are shooting a BB gun off, or simply holding a hoagie sandwich the wrong way, cops are going to blast you. Look around, it's happening almost everyday. Hell how many people did cops shoot in LA county last year? ~600?

In today's world you can't go running around with a BB gun aiming it at people and shooting. What happens if he hits someone driving a car, or blinds someone else? Or a cop sees someone running after someone with what seems like a rifle raised? Shane would know more.

Even pre 9/11, having a BB gun war when you are a top NFL prospect is simply dumb. Multiple people shooting BB guns at each other is not normal, and never has been. Only morons do it. But most of these morons again aren't in college (they're teenagers like 11-14) and they aren't NFL prospects.

I think this sums it up.

Not defending Jameis here, because clearly something is up, and he needs to get his mind right, but one time I walked out of Home Depot with 40 bucks of lumber because I decided it was also the best time to call and ask out a girl. She said yes, I felt successful with life, and forgot that you needed to pay for goods and services. They didn't really buy my story, but didn't call the cops. I'm not allowed back at said Home Depot.
