New York Knicks superstar Jalen Brunson has provided an update on his wrist after undergoing surgery.
Brunson suffered his wrist injury in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
It did not stop the point guard from averaging 32.6 points per game in the NBA Finals and winning the Finals MVP.
However, Brunson decided to have surgery soon after the season ended and remains unable to practice.
The 29-year-old has now revealed when he hopes to return to playing basketball in preparation for the 2026-27 season.

Jalen Brunson explained exactly what happened to his wrist and how long it will take to recover in an interview with Variety.
Brunson’s wrist is currently in a cast, which means he is unable to do any basketball workouts.
“My tendon and the structure of my wrist are fine,” Brunson said. “There was soft tissue that was holding my tendon, and it kept flipping and snapping over the bone every time I shot, every time I flicked my wrist.
“And so clearly it was causing pain, causing friction. But I was obviously able to play through it.
“I’ll be in this [cast] for about another six weeks and then from that point on, it’s just my rehab after that, but I should be good, I should be good.”
If Brunson’s wrist recovers by the start of September, as planned, he should be ready to play in the Knicks’ preseason games.
Preseason begins in early October before the 2026-27 regular season commences later that month.
