Fresh off of an NBA championship, the captain of the New York Knicks will be sidelined for the foreseeable future.
Knicks' star point guard Jalen Brunson is undergoing surgery on his left wrist, according to a report from ESPN's Shams Charania on Tuesday afternoon.
Despite needing a procedure done on his ball-dominant hand, Brunson is still expected to return to basketball activities later this summer.
Brunson, who became the first player in NBA history to be named in-season tournament, Eastern Conference finals and NBA Finals MVP, dealt and played with the left wrist injury throughout the Knicks' championship run, Charania added in a follow-up tweet.
