Jacksonville Jaguars' second-year cornerback Jabbar Muhammad continues to garner attention from the coaching staff.
Following Tuesday's minicamp practice, head coach Liam Coen praised Muhammad's play. Then on Wednesday, defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile did the same.
"I think he's improved a ton," Campanile said. "But just watching him, he's really been super detailed with his technique. I think that's one of the things that shows up. Very, very deliberate like in the way that he's practicing and I think that's created some takeaways for him and making some plays on the ball. He just always seems to be near the action right now. So he's really done a great job and improved a bunch this spring."
John Shipley of Jaguars on SI wrote that Muhammad had a "great practice" on Wednesday, with Shipley noting that Muhammad made "several" pass breakups, one of which came in the red zone. Muhammad also had an interception, his second of minicamp.
Strong ball production isn't new for Muhammad. During his final two seasons at Oregon, he recorded 22 pass breakups and three interceptions.
We know that the top of the Jaguars' cornerback depth chart sits Travis Hunter, Montaric Brown, Jourdan Lewis, and Jarrian Jones, but the next one to two roster spots are up for grabs.
Christian Braswell may be a favorite for one of those spots, but he isn't a roster lock, while Muhammad has positioned himself very well to make a roster push this summer.
Muhammad went undrafted in 2025 and spent last season on the Jaguars' practice squad.
