I know someone laughed at your post, but considering how lost he looked in pre-season, he seems to be at least a solid backup who can fill in during injuries. He also has the green dot right now with Wilson out, which is impressive for the rookie who looked so bad 12 weeks ago.

With Mack Wilson Sr. sidelined last week by a rib injury, rookie Cody Simon assumed green dot duties for the Cardinals, tying for the team lead in tackles with six. The former Ohio State star fared well in his first NFL start, playing all 62 snaps, and with Wilson already ruled out for Week 11 as well, Simon was one of the more popular waiver adds at the linebacker position this week.

He was released not waived, only waived players can be claimed. Players with certain year players get released and are free to sign anywhere as he is free to do now. He will sign with the Rams I bet.
