Turning point: Cody Sylvester broke a scoreless tie at 2:13 of the second period and the Atlanta Gladiators went on to defeat the Jacksonville Icemen 2-1 in ECHL hockey on March 21 at Gas South Arena.
Three stars: 1. Jack O'Brien, Atlanta (one goal). 2. T.J. Semptimphelter, Atlanta (28 saves). 3. Sylvester, Atlanta (one goal).
Penalty box: The Icemen and Gladiators (38-19-2-1) combined to go 0 for 9 on the power play.
Around the rink: Will Hillman gave the Icemen (24-29-7-1) hope with a goal midway through the third period. … Jacksonville goaltender Cameron Rowe recorded 27 saves. … The Icemen finished with a split in the series with Atlanta after a 4-1 Jacksonville victory on March 20, which included two goals from Adam McMaster and two assists from Tyler Kopff.
