The Detroit Lions have agreed to a long-term extension with one of their key defenders, linebacker Jack Campbell.
The Lions and Campbell announced they had agreed to terms on a contract extension in a brief video posted to social media May 21.
"I just wanted to let you guys know I signed my extension," Campbell said in the video. "I'm excited to be back. I'm excited to be here long term. Now, it's time to go win a Super Bowl. Go Lions."
Campbell is signing a four-year extension with the Lions, according to NFL Media's Ian Rapoport. The exact terms of the deal weren't immediately disclosed, but it will be in lieu of exercising Campbell's fifth-year option, which would have carried a $21.95 million value.
Campbell quickly blossomed into a high-end starter for the Lions after being a first-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. He enjoyed a career-best season in 2025, recording 176 tackles, five sacks, four pass defenses and three forced fumbles while being named an All-Pro first teamer and earning his first career Pro Bowl nod.
Campbell, who will turn 26 in August, has never missed a game during his three-year NFL career.
