Chicago Hockey Now: ICYMI — four members of this year’s Chicago Blackhawks team were named to the United States’ preliminary roster for the 2026 IIHF World Championship, which begins on Friday in Zurich and Fribourg, Switzerland.

With just five days until the action begins, Team USA had an exhibition game against Germany on Sunday, providing a first look at potential line combinations for the tournament. Oliver Moore skated at left wing on the first line with Tommy Novak and Ryan Leonard. Sam Lafferty played right wing on the fourth line with Ryker Lee and Danny Nelson. Wyatt Kaiser was paired with Will Borgen on the second defensive pairing. Drew Commesso served as the No. 3 goaltender and did not dress.

More CHN: The 2026 NHL Draft Lottery didn’t go the Blackhawks way, but there is still a chance that Ivar Stenberg falls into their lap at fourth overall. More and more mock drafts have Stenberg sliding outside of the top three.

The Athletic: Another top draft analyst released his 2026 NHL Mock Draft on Monday morning, and he, too, projects Stenberg to be the Blackhawks’ selection at No. 4.

NHL Trade Talk, News, & National Hockey Now

Montreal Hockey Now: The Bell Centre was absolutely buzzing as the Montreal Canadiens returned home for Game 3 against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. Tage Thompson opened the scoring for the Sabres, but the Habs responded with six of the game’s final seven tallies, including two from Alex Newhook. Montreal now holds a 2-1 series lead.

Vegas Hockey Now: The second Stanley Cup Playoff game of the night was much tighter than the first, as the Anaheim Ducks pulled out a hard-fought 4-3 win in Game 4 against the Vegas Golden Knights to even the series 2-2. The Knights missed out on a major opportunity to take a 3-1 series lead with Game 5 back in Sin City.

San Jose Hockey Now: What will the San Jose Sharks do with the No. 2 pick in the 2026 NHL Draft this summer? Will it be forward Ivar Stenberg, or defenseman Chase Reid? Their decision will very much impact who the Blackhawks select at No. 4.

TSN: Speaking of the Sharks, superstar forward Macklin Celebrini was named as Team Canada‘s captain for the 2026 IIHF World Championship on Sunday. The 19-year-old will have veteran forwards Ryan O’Reilly and John Tavares as his alternate captains. Seems like a wise decision by Hockey Canada to give Celebrini this opportunity at a young age. He’ll very likely be wearing a letter for them in some big tournaments throughout his career.

Forever Blueshirts: Jim Cerny looks back at the K’Andre Miller trade between the New York Rangers and the Carolina Hurricanes, as he’s been a huge piece to an undefeated postseason run in the Eastern Conference through two rounds.

Pittsburgh Hockey Now: Dan Kingerski breaks down why the Pittsburgh Penguins cannot be quiet this offseason. There must be more moves and more trades from GM Kyle Dubas.

Philly Hockey Now: After getting swept by the Hurricanes in the second round, the Philadelphia Flyers‘ improbable postseason run has ended. However, the season should not be remembered for its conclusion. Instead, the 2025-26 Flyers should be remembered for how they got there. A quick season reflection from William James at PHN.
